Lace Stamped T-shirt

This didn't quite turn out like I hoped...but it kinda worked!
IMG_3550
So I had some lace left over from my french maid costume, and thought it would be fun to use it as a sort of stamp to an old boring shirt. So I painted the lace and then "stamped" it on the shirt.
Photobucket
I went over it a couple of times, but this it didn't fill in all of the spaces. I even pressed down on the lace using a book. Maybe I just needed more paint? But I was afraid to use too much paint because I wasn't sure if that would mess up the lace lines - does that even make sense?

Here's what it looked like the first time I pulled off the lace. I went over it a few times after this picture.
 Photobucket
I still wore it but...um...not sure if this is public worthy! :) But, then again, I figure I'm going with the distressed look.

Here's the close up again

Has anyone ever tried something similar? How did you do it and how did it turn out?

Design / FB Cover / Google+ / Me!

I've made a few blog changes in the last couple of days. I'd love to hear what you think!

#1: I simplified my blog design. My background is now plain and simple - white. I played around with some other designs and it was just getting too crazy! So I decided to go the other way :) Thoughts?

#2: I made a cover photo for my facebook page! It was pretty easy. I choose the pictures I wanted in Picasa, and then created a collage with the custom margins 315x850, I choose the "picture pile" option, and moved the pictures around until I liked it! Check it out on my facebook page.

#3: I finally figured out how to make a Google+ page for my blog. You can check it out here - I'm still trying to figure out how that all works, so if you have any tips please share! Follow me on Google+ and I'll follow you right back! I need to get that started! :)

#4: Not a blog change...but I promised I would share a little more about my What I Wore Post.

The favorite outfit of the week was Thursdays with a 43%! (It was my favorite too - glad we have the same taste!

And...most voters thought that Wednesday (67%) was the non-thrifted outfit - when actually it was Thursdays - which got 0 votes for which one was not thrifted!!!

Monday: ($1 shirt - thrifted; $2 Express dress pants - thrifted)
Tuesday: ($2 Express shirt - thrifted; $2 New York and Co pants - thrifted)
Wednesday: ($0 sweater - Macy's when they had the "buy denim - get a $10 coupon" sale. I bought capris for $8, got a $10 coupon, used it to buy this sweater for FREE!; $2 Express dress pants - thrifted)
Thursday: ($10 Forever21 shirt; $18 Banana Republic dress pants - outlet store)

I plan on getting out some fun classroom / creative posts later this week so get excited!

What I Wore this Week

Here's the first official "what I wore this week" post!
Also could be called, "look at all my awkward poses"!!!

(Let's pretend Friday didn't exist - it was track day/green(earth) day/school spirit day...boring)

Which was your favorite outfit of the week?

Which outfit was NOT thrifted? There is only one!

Vote because it's fun! And I'll post later with the results and tell you a little bit more about which one was not thrifted and the deals I got on the others! :)

What I Wore (on Thursday)!

Lately, I've been noticing quite a few bloggers who do "what I wore" posts...and got to thinking - hey, I wear clothes everyday, maybe this is something I could do! Also, it could be good for me to document my clothes choices, because I'm pretty sure I wear the same things over and over again...

So here's what I wore on Thursday!
Photobucket
I really love this shirt. It's so flowy and silky. I have fun playing with it...
Shirt: Forever 21 ($1 - Plato's Closet)
Black pants: Express ($2 - Neat Repeats thrift store)

haha, and I put on some shoes later!

. Photobucket
And I liked the way my hair turned out,. It was day 2 of "dirty" hair, so it definitely needed to be pulled back! I used about 3 bobby pins to fold over the hair as you can see, and after the picture was taken I added a hair tie because I wanted to make sure my ponytail would stay in place all day!

So I'll try doing this for this next week and post it all at the end of the week and you all can let me know if you like it! :)

Cereal Box Organizer

I had been organizing all my scrapbooking stickers in this cute little tote...but they didn't quite fit and it just looked so messy as they were all sticking out of the top
 Photobucket
So I saw this post from Katydid and Kid about making an organizer from a cereal box and it looked so simple and uses materials I'm sure just about everyone already has on hand! (a cereal box, scrapbook paper, glue/mod podge)
 Photobucket
And it was easy. All I did was cut a cereal box in half at different heights on each side. Then covered the box with cute paper. I used mod podge to make the paper stick and it worked well for me! And here's my new, more organized sticker storage! It now sits on my desk. I can see them so much better now too - so maybe I'll use them some more!
Photobucket Photobucket
This would be great for so many other things as well, like mail or other small important papers. :)

The Guestbook Table

I am so excited because I just got pictures from the guestbook table from my wedding! My cousin was the guestbook attendant, and we had the guestbook at the reception hall, not the church!
Photobucket
(That's my sister - the junior bridesmaid, next to my cousin, writing on her guestbook page. Isn't she so cute!?!)

Photobucket
And my ADORABLE little flower girl (with a lollypop from the candy table) and my aunt at the guestbook table.

In case you missed my earlier posts, I made my own guestbook pages (and the sign/poem to go with it) giving my guests rooms to write a sweet little note and space to add a picture of them from the night. I just LOVE how it turned out!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!! I put together a playlist of all of my favorite worship songs. We were listening to these songs after church today - love them! You can listen to my playlist HERE (or below)!!
Have you ever used grooveshark before? I'm new to it and might like it more than Pandora! Well, the two are very different so I'm not sure if it's fair to compare them, but with grooveshark you type in what songs you want to listen to and ta-da, they are ready for you to listen to them! So, it's great for days when you know specifically what you want to listen to! And I tend to be picky like that. You know those days when every song on Pandora is a "dislike" - yeah, I have a lot of those days :)

Happy Easter again! Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Wine bottle + hot glue + spray paint

Here's one of my pinterest inspired creations. It was so simple and I love the way it turned out.
Photobucket
All I did was write the word "love" and a little heart on a wine bottle with hot glue and then spray painted the whole thing black. The paint is really shiny, so it didn't make for a great picture - but I love how it looks in real life!
Photobucket
Oh, and I picked up the flowers at the dollar tree :)

Repurposing: Jones Soda Storage Container

Photobucket
I was excited to find Jones soda at Meijer the other day! Bought me back to my highschool days :)
I knew I had to do something with the pack after I finished the sodas.

I thought after covering it with cute paper, but was too overwhelmed with the idea. And it's pretty cute just the way it is.
Photobucket
They even give you ideas on how to reuse it on the box! How funny. The suggestion they have here is to use it to store CDs. I like my idea better for now though.
Now all my scissors, sharpies, paintbrushes, and similar items are all together. Love it! Do you have any other ideas on how this could be used?
